A delight to read even if this dad (and his daughter) find nothing to fuss over with Lenderman. Just one of those misses that's a hit for everyone else!
MJ turns the trope of the “cool uncle” on its head - he’s the cool nephew who the uncle in his mid-50s seeks out for an afternoon beer on the back porch at the family gathering. I mean, what 24 yr old would write a song called “Rip Torn” about a perpetually drunk friend that includes a reference to Men In Black (starring Rip Torn)? Or a song that takes a dig at Eric Clapton and his musically ill-informed fans? Or a song that envisions a drunk Lightning McQueen (the nephew’s childhood hero) running over Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer (a childhood favorite of the uncle’s). A nephew who gets the uncle, that’s who.

Thanks, man. Tastes may vary!
If Neil, Tom, and Wilco are dad rock, then dad rock will be esteemed as much as dad jokes (we might groan, but we love them!).
Thanks both for turning me on to Lenderman.
Glad you dug it! Lots of good music to explore in in the Lenderman universe (including his other band, Wednesday).

Amazing take! “Cool Uncle Rock” > “Dad Rock”
We really like this engaging approach!
Thank you!
Great song, great album. Fun to read what you both think about it. And I've been a dad since I was 26, so...
So. Much. Dad. Rock.
