Ok, you are missing HEY, JUDE by the BEATLES.

Good call out and great song! Opinions vary wildly, but when it comes to the Beatles, a lot of power poppers use "Rubber Soul" as the cut off.

HEY, all respect to power poppers, but little technicalities and ambiguous definitions don't apply here.

That is impressive work.

It isn't power pop, but I still feel obligated to mention "Hey Nineteen"

Nice! Did you check out that Dinosaurs track? It has some Steely Dan vibes, although rougher around the edges.

Thanks for highlighting. I haven't, but I will when I'm on the computer.

The Pursuit of Happiness! Love seeing them getting a little love!

Giving myself these arbitrary playlist restrictions—specific word, only 40 songs, etc.—makes me dig deep! Glad you dug it.

Fantastic!! And tho it’s not eligible for inclusion on the playlist (not a song), this is still a brilliant opportunity to mention Hey! Hello! - Ginger Wildheart’s power pop project from about a decade ago; some wonderfully crafted, clever music with hooks galore… worth checking into! :)

Glad you dug it. Ginger's amazing!

What a great listen for my trip home this afternoon!

The two songs I hoped to find were there: "Hey Hey" by The Elms and "Hey Now Now" by Swirl 360.

The song that was a discovery to Mr was "Hey Dude" by The Foxies - I have to check out more from that band!

Awesome. 🫡

Love the collection, Steve, but one of the most effective uses of a lyrical "Hey" (sadly, it's not in the title) is the single snare FWAP! and group "HEY!" that leaps "Wait For Me Mary-Anne" into its Marmalade propulsion! Wouldn't THAT have awakened car radio listeners in '68!

"HEY! ...Don't you...don't you...have an idea..." (Title track "Have an idea" by The Heats, 1980). John Borack lists this album a top 50 of all time. On Spotify, etc. New album released in October.
