Some winners in here - and Mazzy Star is like the melancholy bow on top. Tho, to me, there is no winter without Bon Iver.

Good call. Lucy loves Bon Iver too.

Ahhh!

You guys are killing me!

For me - it's a weirdly old-school Frank Sinatra Christmas record, I guess from 1950-something.

It was my Mother's record.

I grew up with that record being played many years around Christmas on her old Decca record player.

Sinatra's version of "I'll Be Home For Christmas" gets me every time...

Yes - Christmas is a jumble of emotions and memories...

Thanks for you both sharing yours.

It can be a lot, but I still love it! Thanks for sharing.

Just as a non-holiday tangent, I have to admit that my enjoyment of Teenage Fanclub really waned once Gerry left the band. Norman and Raymond are fine songwriters as well, but there was something about Gerry’s voice, melancholy perspective and low-key hooks that really brought out the best in TFC.

I’ve heard that from a few others as well. But, man, talk about a band stacked with songwriting talent.
