It’s the most wonderful (and often the saddest!) time of the year!

I’m so here for this. With apologies to Rhett Miller, the Replacements made a big impression for a band of their size. Always and forever a fan of the band, but of Tim in particular.

Shark Week can suck it! I like that you have these bands name their own songs influenced by Tim. I’m an apostate, apparently, but I’ll be around for the Pleased To Meet Me gangbang. Always cool to read people who are passionate about music.

I do my best to make the nostalgia fests tie back to modern music whenever I can. This time it was pretty easy because so many musicians were inspired/influenced by The Replacements and PW.

Coming to this (great) one a bit late; made me reflect on my only time on stage with a rock band, in a thing they did occasionally called rockstar karaoke. They had sheets (pre-smart phone days) for folks who needed help with lyrics. I sang Just What I Needed and Bastards. Didn’t need help on the first, but it was the first time I’d seen written lyrics to the second and was shocked as hell several times. After about 8 years of listening I’d had my own interpretations that differed from the sheet in several key ways. One I can recall was “Willie Nelson claim us”! (Arguably better?)

Maybe you’ve already discussed it, and I’ll see it soon, but if not, that might be a fun theme if I’m not alone. What other words have folks had for it?
