Love these playlists! Until I get around to finishing my radio song I've been kicking around for years (maybe this year? lol) I'd like to bring your attention to the catchy "Beatnik Termites" - 'Voice On The Radio'
Mega kudos for this, Steve! Having BEEN in radio, mid-'70s (2 college, 2 pro FM rockers, Houston and Baton Rouge), I made a similar playlist, nay, mixtape in the '80s! I think I caught most of your pre-mid-'80s tracks on mine. I will be cross-posting this to my subbies, eventually!
Raspberries is noticeably absent, and they've got a couple that could be on here....neither are particularly "easy" from the standpoint of our key word being in the title! "Overnight Sensation (Hit Record)" mentions the word, and certainly speaks around the topic! And, they've got a couple of car songs, too, that might mention the car radio: "Cruisin' Music" and "Drivin' Around." I'd have to check.
But, swell job, again, all the way around! I'll probably cross-post this sometime in July....I've already scheduled Saturdays thru, and into July....Tune Tags have become so all-inclusive and encompassing during any given week, it's been tough to write anything else, except squeezing in a collab or two from time to time! So, sending my subbies others' writings between the Tune Tags is the goal, now! But, thanks for this....I've always had a 💘for radio, of course, and even more so for songs plugged into it!

Leave it to you Lauden. Raised on the Radio-The Rayvns. Heard it for 10 seconds while Spicolly was washing his car in Fast Times at Ridgemont High. Ran out to find the soundtrack then the album-which is a power pop masterpiece. Also chase down Rob Faheys solo Breaking and Entering. Lastly the great Will Owsley. Tragic loss. Everything he did was incredible. Nice piece ❤️
