The first line - “it doesn’t respect genre boundaries” - could be the basis for a full thesis on its own. Based on the songs posted, I’m tracking. But I would say that power pop fully respects other genres by incorporating them into power pop without imitating the genres. In that respect, power pop artists do not confine themselves to a singular original power pop sound or formula, but they respect other genres. Thanks for taking the time to add to IIPP.

FAAR is the one Blondie song on Parallel Lines that “sticks out” as seemingly being from a different band/album altogether.
