Spring has sprung and there’s a super bloom of new music.
Over the last few months, the guitar pop faeries have treated us to some of the hookiest tracks from all around the rock and roll globe. There’s such a flood of fab songs being unleashed these days that it’s almost impossible for fans to keep up.
Thankfully, there is an army of dedicated reviewers out there pointing us to the great stuff. In this (gasp!) fourteenth installment of the series, we have killer music from Canada, Australia, the Netherlands, and various corners of the U.S. of A.
As always, we have included a quote from a recent review and link for you to check it out. These are some of my go-to publications and reviewers out their curating for us, so be sure to give them a click, follow and share.

“This is the first new music from The Reflectors in two-and-a-half years, and it does not disappoint. This, my friends, is a little piece of power pop bliss. I can't stop playing this tune, and I bet you won't be able to either. Enjoy and stay tuned!” —Lord Rutledge, Faster and Louder
“Opening track ‘Boomerang’ has more hooks than it knows what to do with, as both the pre-chorus and chorus are strong enough to carry an entire track–and at the same time, Drizos and his band still find time to offer up some darker-sounding alt-rock in the verses.”—Rosy Overdrive
“I love how he borrows that Beach Boys echo-chambered organ to set the mood for a 10cc/Beatles pop workout on ‘Look No Further.’ You get the picture—All Fuller, No Filler is a very special album, a testament to an emerging pop master.”—Dennis Pilon, Poprock Record
“‘Mary Ann Leaves the Band’ serves as an irresistible, infectious introduction to this fresh ensemble hailing from Brooklyn, New York.” —Patrick Donders, Sweet Sweet Music Blog
“‘Here Comes The Love Bomb’ sees Clover leaning into her penchant for catchy and blown-out garage rock, turning down the punk bite in favor of infectious hooks. From its opening moments every bit of the song sounds huge. It steadily builds from a propulsive bass line into a towering sing-along chorus, backed by walls of guitars and pop harmonies, bringing the track a hint of new wave melodicism.” —Caleb Campbell, Under The Radar
“One of the best EPs I’ve heard is by The Second Summer, with each song a winner from their debut undertow. Fans of The Posies and Teenage Fanclub will love this highly recommended EP.”—Aaron Kupferberg, Powerpopaholic
“Portland's Day Ricardo has fashioned up an outstanding pop rock album. The type that you used to hear in the ‘70s that everyone dissed and now say that they were always big fans. It isn't stuck in that decade, but it does remind you of it a lot.” —Don Valentine, I Don’t Hear A Single
“There are few genres that Daniel Romano can’t conquer, and here he proves that, if need be, the tiger in his tank is ready to rip into the jugular. Summer’s a few months away, but it’s already getting hot in here.” —Andy, Raven Sings The Blues
“The Klittens have the propensity to draw from both the jangly post-punk energies of the ‘80s girl fronted post-punk acts whilst simultaneously ensuring the overall aesthetic remains steadfastly their own by employing a core jangly guitar tone that dismisses the tinny angularity that post-punk modernity tends to gravitate towards, in favor of a choppy, smooth twang that enables their sound to have the flexibility to explore various musical nuances.”—Jangle Pop Hub
“It’s a brilliant construction and very impressive in its ability to whittle down its complexity to a simple three-minute pop song, its ultimate excellence is at least in part because it keeps you guessing as it creeps to every unturned corner of one particular decade for its inspiration. You can’t pin it down, can’t specify that thing you are trying to verbalise.” —MK Bennett, Louder Than War
Another great collection of songs!
The new Reflectors album is so good!
